May 2- Jorge fighting Wed June 28th

In our previous newsletter we stated Jorge would be fighting June 24th at the Ultimate Fighter 3 finally. That has been changed to June 28 Ultimate Fight Nite which will also be live on Spike TV!

We are also excited to announce that Jorge's opponent is Mark Hominick. Mark is the number 1 ranked lightweight Canadian and defeated a Top contender for the belt Yves Edwards in an upset at UFC 58.

Jorge has been a training machine as he prepares for this match. His knee which completely blew out in his last fight is fully recovered. This will be an exciting fight as he steps back into the Octagon with a fully functional Knee!

April 5- Marcus "Maximus" Aurelio beats Takanori Gomi!

Marcus Aurelio who is now a hardened veteran of Japan's Pride Fighting Championship competed in Bushido 10 on April 2. He fought and choked out the Worlds #1 ranked 155 lb fighter Takanori Gomi in the 1st rd. Congratulations to Marcus on this huge win!

Jorge Gurgel is Marcus's only Blackbelt Student. He is a lead instructor at American Top Team in Florida.

March 14. Team Jorge Gurgel goes 4-0 at the Tri State Mixed Martial Arts & Warrior Fighting Challenge hosted by the GroundnPound Classic.

Tony Jayme received the Fight of the night award for his flying knee KO
Brandon Pierce won in his 1st MMA bout defeating a very strong opponent via Armbar. Good job for hanging on to that arm even after the opponent tried to loosen him up via body slams.
Jamie Toney won 2x in  featured grappling exhibition matches. 1 by armbar and one by triangle.
