“Luke Zachrich back in the cage” After nearly a seven month lay off from fighting Team Jorge Gurgel member Luke Zachrich will fight this weekend 6SEP08 in Indiana. Zachrich (7-1) will take on Mike Musselwhite in the Full Contact Fight Series which will be held at JB’s Place in Ft. Wayne, Indiana this Saturday night. Zachrich, a promising middleweight prospect, was on the UFC TUF Series Season 7 on Spike T.V. TUF 7 was the first TUF season to have a 32 man fight tournament. Zachrich fought and won his way into the TUF house. Zachrich lost in the 2nd round of the show to Dan Cramer in one of the season’s most exciting and hard fought fights. Upon his return home Zachrich suffered a serious injury in which he tore the quadriceps in one of his legs as well as a tendon in his knee. Although down about his injury Zachrich was never out and is a mainstay at Team JG always willing to help a teammate get ready for a fight. Zachrich also teaches a MMA class on Thursday mornings at JG. When asked to comment about his upcoming fight Zachrich said that “this is my first fight back from the show and my injury and I am working my way back to the UFC”. Only 4 of the original 32 contestants the UFC brought in to fight for a contract are under contract at this time. Zachrich is determined to work his way back up the ladder and earn the coveted UFC contract.
